Why Smartica
Our work is shaped by experience on every side of transformation: advising boards, leading businesses, building markets and navigating technology ecosystems across Anglophone and Francophone Africa.
Managing Partner
Strategy adviser.
Business leader.
Africa market builder.
A rare combination of global corporate standards and first-hand African execution.
Gansirey Seck brings 17 years of leadership at the intersection of banking strategy, financial technology, large-scale transformation and market development across Anglophone and Francophone Africa. Her experience combines senior roles with global technology leaders including Ingenico and Finastra, managing director and P&L responsibility, banking board governance, and strategic advisory to banks, financial institutions, fintechs, governments, central banks and NGOs.
Across complex markets, including Nigeria, she has helped some of Africa’s leading banks translate their ambition for the bank of the future into operating reality. Her experience spans corporate and retail banking transformation, core banking platforms, digital banking, trade finance, treasury, payments and financial inclusion. She has worked with leadership teams to define the vision, make the right strategic and technology choices, mobilise the appropriate partners and build the capabilities required to deliver sustainable transformation.
For Gansirey, technology is never the starting point or an end in itself. The starting point is the institution’s ambition and the value it wants to create for its customers. The objective is to build an organisation that performs today while remaining ready for tomorrow: relevant to evolving customer needs, differentiated from competitors, operationally resilient and able to adapt as technologies, regulations and business models evolve. This ability to connect vision, customer value, business strategy, technology and disciplined execution is the foundation of Smartica’s approach.
